"People don't like to be sold but they want to buy" Funny statement isn't it? But really that's the truth, and in there lies the challenge...and another word for challenge is oppurtunity. A lot of misconception about business is that you actually have to do sales...well, yes and no.. yes at times you do need to do sales to generate income, but not all the time. Thing is, people (non sales people) don't like to be sold, but they want to buy. That's why there's a sort of 'fear' of people in general towards sales or people who's careers are in sales. Yet, in sales lies the real rewards...so how do sales people overcome this? One of the answers is actually to, instead of doing sales, do promotions... And if you really look into how the successful coorperations in the world does it...they do not do sales...they promote...organizations nowadays promote their products, services, whateever...they don't do sales, they promote. And one of the easiest ways and most effective ways of promoting, is to promote benefits. Look around, chances are you are already being bombarded by various promotions from various organizations promoting their products or benefits...and you don't even realize it. Why is that? Simple... EBB - Everybody Buys Benefits... Remember, people don't want to be sold, but they want to buy, and everybody buy benefits. So, the formula is: Promote the Benefits of whatever products or services that you have...the big boys are doing it, so why not you? and it doesn't have to be in terms of products/services, even in terms of relationships...if you're trying to get a girl... its actually selling yourself...but if you do sales, than the girl will reject you...so promote yourself, promote the benefits of having yourself as the boyfriend, not necessarily or just in words, in terms of dressing, how you talk, how you carry yourself, where you're going, etc..so promote |
